Resolute Elevator recently completed a full modernization of the passenger elevator at the Historic Carolina Hotel, a Pinehurst landmark. Our goal was to preserve the building’s timeless character while delivering a safer, smoother, and more energy-efficient ride for guests and staff.
Elevator Modernization of Historic Hotel
The project was a great success. The four-story historic building was first erected in 1901 and was maintained well through the years with attention to detail and elegance. Unfortunately, all elevators have a lifespan and the years started adding up. As a result a full elevator modernization was required. The scope of work required a mechanical and cosmetic upgrade. Resolute Elevator provided spectacular results.

Controller & Drive Upgrade – Replaced aging relay logic with a state-of-the-art microprocessor controller and variable frequency drive for precise performance.

Hoist Machine & Motor Replacement – Installed a modern high-efficiency motor with reduced energy consumption and extended life expectancy.

Door Equipment Modernization – Updated operator and safety systems for reliable, ADA-compliant operation.

Cab Refurbishment – Enhanced finishes to reflect the hotel’s historic charm while meeting today’s standards.

Safety & Code Compliance – Brought all systems into compliance with ASME A17.1/CSA B44, NEC, and current North Carolina elevator safety requirements.
