The Broughton High School modernization project was a challenge in many respects, but the final results speak for themselves. 

Resolute Elevator recently completed a full modernization of the passenger elevator at the Broughton High School in Raleigh, North Carolina.  The project was part of an overall building improvement project. The goal was to provide a safer elevator with more efficient operating costs and enhanced student safety. 

On of the most important reasons to consider an elevator modernization is to improve the safety of the elevator itself.  That comes in different forms.

Reliability – Once an elevator reaches a certain age (usually past 20 to 25 years) an elevator can become less reliable even if maintained well. They are a mechanical devise and all machines have a life span. By modernizing the elevator with new machinery the likelihood of breakdowns diminishes significantly.

ADA and Code Compliance – The laws have changed regarding elevator code as people have demanded more safety and more inclusion. Meeting or exceeding elevator codes means that the elevator will be safe for all riders.

Mechanical Upgrades – A full modernization means improved and high functioning parts and components. Emergency systems are upgrades as well as door operators, wiring, and conveyance systems. That means better leveling, smoother ride, better door operation and enhanced safety for all.  

Conclusion

The project was completed quickly and on a timeline that was best for the school and other trades involved. The overall look of the cab was a definite improvement and the project was deemed a great success.
